Female  seal Kobba had a new baby at Reykjavik Family Park and Zoo yesterday. Both mother and baby seal are doing well. Another baby seal resides at the zoo, mother Særún had her baby seal earlier this week. The seal Snorri is the father of the newborns. Snorri is 18 years old and has been at the Reykjavik Zoo for a long time now. The newborn seals weigh about 15 kilos and are nurtured with milk from their mothers the first weeks, and then they are on their own. The gender of the seals can not be specified until much later so they will not be given names until later this summer. -hbv
