Today at three pm, President Ólafur Ragnar Grímsson will receive a group of British sailors who have sailed to Iceland on ten scooners. They sailed to Iceland to comemorate the 150 years which have passed since Lord Dufferin sailed to Iceland. On this occasion, Lady Dufferin, the last living descendant of Lord Dufferin will be presenting the Icelandic nation with a special gift. Members of the Icelandic Sailing Association will also be present. Lord Dufferin's journey to Iceland and the letters he wrote recounting it are a unique documentation of Icelandic life in the middle of the nineteenth century.
