The great fish day will be held for the sixth time running this Saturday in Dalvík, north Iceland. On Friday night, locals will be hosting the Great Fish Chowder evening, an event when locals invite visitors to the town to their homes for fish chowder.

President Ólafur Ragnar Grímsson is a special guest of honour. An Asian-style fish soup will be made in Iceland's largest casserole, and baccalao-waffles baked in over 50 waffle-makers. Additionally, the town hosts a show of live fish, with around 200 species of Atlantic fish.
