deCode reduces staff

Yesterday deCode genetics (Íslensk erfðagreining) laid off fifty employers, twenty eight of them are in Iceland. Eiríkur Sigurðusson, the company‘s public relations manager told news sources that certain research projects were over and in other cases genetic studies has reached a level of automation. Furthermore, deCode is slowing down its operation. The employers have three months term of notice and deCode will assist them in finding new jobs.
