Citizens of Reykjavik, who have until yesterday been having the worst summer in history, rejoiced as the European heatwave finally reached Icelandic shores. Yesterday the temperature soared up to 17 degrees accompanied by clear blue skies, and today the fine weather continues with temperatures reaching 20 degrees Celsius.

People in Reykjavik have been profiting from the weather taking days off work and spending time at Nauthólsvík beach or at the city's many swimming pools. The spell of good weather is predicted to last, at least, for a few days.
