The film Mýrin received the Iceland Academy Edda Award 2006. Baltasar Kormákur also won best director for Mýrin. Ingvar E. Sigurðsson won best actor and Atli Rafn Sigurðsson won best supporting actor both for Mýrin. Börn (Children) won best screenplay. Documentary of the year was Skuggabörn and Anna and the Moods won best short film. Music and Sound won Mugison for Mýrin and A Little Trip to Heaven. Best set design won Óttar Guðnason for A Little Trip to Heaven. Magnús Scheving received the Honorary Award for the television series Lazy Town that has now been nominated for an Emmy and a Bafta Award.
