Forbes has selected Iceland as the coolest place to visit in the year 2015. Interestingly enough a week after publishing the list Beyonce Knowles and Jay-Z are said to have arrived in Iceland.
Iceland tops the Forbes list which is based on the opinion of Owen Gaddis, a luxury travel manager, at a super-high-end experiental travel-planning company Absolute Travel. Gaddis explains there are millions of reasons why Iceland tops the list.
“Traveling to Iceland is like being transported to a parallel world where every waking moment is filled with adventure, incredible landscapes, folklore and understated pleasures. It will make you believe in the magical again,” says Gaddis, adding that the country offers river rafting, fishing, diving snorkeling, surfing, caving and hiking.
Iceland is largely uninhabited but the Forbes article also describes Iceland as a „place where trolls and fairies are rumored to wander the painted hills, jump the ice crevices, bathe in the natural hot springs and scale the misty cliffs. Somehow, once there, he notes, this seems entirely possible.“
Among other places descriped as a hot place to visit in 2015 are Morocco, Vietnam and The American Prairie Reserve in Montana. More on Forbes' coolest places here.
