Heat Wave Predicted

News channel NFS's meterologist Sigurður Þ. Ragnarsson, otherwise known as Siggi Stormur, has predicted excellent weather for the upcoming bank holiday weekend. He predicts similar temperatures to the heat wave in August 2004 with temperatures up to 27 degrees.

He does not, however, promise blue skies but rather the possibility of light showers. Ragnarsson is so sure of his prediction that he has promised to eat the famous hat of NFS news reder Sigmundur Ernir.

(Readers please note: Yes, 27 degrees is defniately considered a heatwave in Iceland, although Europeans who have been suffering up to 40 degrees centigrade this summer may find this laughable).
