The Left-Green Party (Vinstri-Grænir) demands a Parliament meeting due to new information on the Kárahnjúkar dam made by geophysicist Grímur Björnsson that presents his great concerns regarding cracks in the earth under the dam. The party demands that both the previous and current Ministers of Industry clear up the matter of why the report was hidden from both public and the parliament.

A statement from the party says that it is obvious that the government intentionally hid information from Parliament on the proposed construction, information that concerned very serious security matters and the economical viability of the dam.

The Liberal party (Frjálslyndi Flokkurinn) has demanded that the industry committee should be called to a meeting early next week to discuss the matter.
