Sigur Rós began their tour of the Icelandic country-side on Monday night, at the community centre in Ólafsvík. The concert was the first of seven or eight concerts that will take place over the next two weeks. The place was packed with guests, both local people and foreign fans who have flocked to Iceland on this occasion. Sigur Rós played songs from their last three albums and Steindór Andersen joined them in one song, chanting the Icelandic medieval rhymes. Two outdoor shows have been announced, in Öxnadalur on Friday night and Klambratún in Reykjavík on Sunday night. Other shows will only be announced the same day.
