Beyoncé and Jay-Z visit Skógafoss waterfall

The power couple Beyoncé and Jay-Z continue looking at Icelandic nature and landed at Skógafoss around one o'clock today.

The couple's helicopter landed near Hótel Skógafoss after a sightseeing flight over Eyjafjallajökull, the volcano that stopped thousands of flights worldwide with a powerful eruption in 2010. 

Beyoncé and Jay Z travel around Iceland in a black helicopter. Vísir reported yesterday that the helicopter was spotted outside the luxury lodge that the couple rented beneath Langjökull glacier.

Locals that work at the folk museum near the waterfall, Byggðasafnið, did not notice the stars arrival. 

"It would have been nice to have them here at the museum," says Sverrir Magnússon, museum director, laughing. "We heard a helicopter but didn't think much about it, as it is quite common that people arrive by helicopter in order to take a look at Skógafoss."

Skógafoss waterfall is considered one of the most beautiful in Iceland and popular among tourists. It was featured in Apple's new advertisement for the 27" iMac.

Beyonce Knowles and Jay-Z arrived in Reykjavik, the capital of Iceland, Monday. The couple arrived in a private jet at Reykjavik airport. They are here to celebrate Jay Z‘s 45th birthday on Thursday, December 4th.

Guests are expected to be arriving today and Icelanders are excited to see if the birthday party will be full of celebrities.

Not everybody is happy with the Icelandic media coverage of the traveling couple, though. Many feel the media should not make such a fuss about the visit of the American couple. The celebrities manage quite well to avoid the spotlight of the media.

Today Beyoncé published her first Instagram post since arriving in Iceland. Thousands of fans were quick to respond to the post with likes and comments.
