The aviation alert level lowered By Jón Hákon Halldórsson 24. ágúst 2014 12:40 Keflavik Airport Vísir/Anton Brink. The Icelandic Met Office has lowered the aviation alert level for flights. It is now orange but was red until 12 o´clock GMT time today. The Met Office says that further research has led to the conclusion that there was no eruption under Dyngjujökull Glacier yesterday. Still there is much Seismic activity. Last night two earthquakes over 5.0 where measured. The Met Office says that the Seismic activity under Dyngjujökull has moved a little bit to north and it is now mostly under the margins of the glacier where an earthquake at size 4.2 was measured this morning. The Met office says that there are no indications of diminished seismic activity. Therefore the probability that there will be an eruption can not be ruled out.
